Privacy policy
This translation is provided for convenience. In the event of any discrepancy, the French version prevails.
WineVision collects as little data as possible. This page describes exactly what the app does, why, and how to exercise your rights.

Account and identifier
On first launch, the app opens an anonymous session: a random technical identifier, with no name or email address. It links your cellar and favourites to your device and applies the limits of the free plan.
If you link an email address to find your cellar on another device, we keep that address and an encrypted password. This is optional.
Legal basis: performance of the service you request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
What you record
Your cellar (bottle names, vintage, quantity, purchase price and date, location, notes), your favourites and your scan history. This data is stored on your phone and synchronised with our servers so you can find it on another device.
Bottle photos taken in “My cellar” stay on your phone. They are only sent if you tap “Contribute this photo”, or if you attach a photo to “Complete this entry”: they are then reviewed by our team before any publication, and you can withdraw a suggestion as long as it has not been published.
The information you suggest to complete an entry (vintage, alcohol, classification, note, source) is stored with your account identifier, reviewed by our team, and published without your name if confirmed.
Label identification
The label text is first read on your phone. When that is not enough, the photo is sent to our server, which forwards it to an artificial intelligence service (fal.ai) to read the label. The photo is not kept, unless you allowed it in “Privacy” (off by default).
When a wine is not recognised, the text read on the label is kept to enrich our wine database. When your account is deleted, it is detached from your identifier.
Wine assistant
Your questions and the assistant’s answers are stored to keep the conversation, and sent to the artificial intelligence service (fal.ai) that writes the answers. Do not include personal information.
Third-party services called from your phone
Wikimedia Commons, to complete wine photos under free licences. Open Food Facts, when you scan a barcode. These services receive your IP address, like any website you visit, but no data from your account.
What we do not do
No advertising, no resale of data, no advertising trackers. No audience measurement is active to date; if we add any, it will remain subject to your consent, off by default.
Hosting and retention
Data is hosted by Supabase in the European Union (Stockholm region, Sweden). The artificial intelligence service may process requests outside the European Union, under the safeguards provided by the GDPR.
Your data is kept as long as your account exists. When it is deleted, it is immediately erased from our databases; backup copies are overwritten within 30 days.
Your rights
At any time you can: download all your data (Profile → Export my data), correct it in the app, withdraw your consents (Profile → Privacy) and delete your account (Profile → Delete my account).
